Actors often have to hit the gym and quit carbs when prepping for a big movie. But instead of building up his muscles (like he did for the James Bond films), Daniel Craig built up his belly for his role in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
"I was stick-thin because I had just come off Cowboys and Aliens, and that just doesn't look right," the actor, 43, tells iVillage exclusively. "So (director David Fincher) started sending me bottles of red wine, and I started eating pizza and chocolates out of the mini bar. It was really tough!"
So did Craig get fat after all that junk food? "I tried my best!" he says.
Recently, the actor has been in the news for his role in the highly anticipated movie (which hit theaters Dec. 20). But he also made headlines over the summer for his surprise wedding with actress Rachel Weisz. So, how's married life treating him?
"It's good," Craig says, keeping his private life private, as usual.
