It turns out Daniel Radcliffe isn't any better at dating than his onscreen alter-ego, Harry Potter. And althought the 22-year-old actor is now happily in a relationship with production assistant Rosie Coker, he says they've only made it as far as they have because Rosie graciously overlooks his romantic faux pas.
"I hated dating, because I'm crap at it!" Radcliffe tells Sunday's Parade magazine (via People). "With Rosie, I didn't know what was appropriate, like on which date you're supposed to try and kiss her."
Deeming the second date a perfect time for a first kiss, Radcliffe tried to work some magic at the end of the night -- but panicked and ended up missing Coker's lips.
"I went to kiss Rosie and at the last minute lost my nerve and ended up kissing her neck, which is a very intimate place to kiss somebody on the second date," he recalls. "Fortunately, she just found it really funny."
That being said, Radcliffe has nothing but the most adorable things to say about his girlfriend. For instance: "When Rosie's here, every day seems better," he gushes. "Ultimately, I think, it comes down to that -- having somebody in your life who makes you happier than you thought you could be."
And Coker does that for Radcliffe, even though he claims he's "not an easy person to love."
"There are lots of times when I'm a very good boyfriend, but there are times when I'm useless," he says. "I mean, I'm a mess around the house. I talk nonstop. I become obsessed with things (fantasy football, most recently). And she listens to it, and she loves me for my oddness, my awkwardness -- all of those things that I hate about myself."
