Oops! Daniel Radcliffe Thought Justin Bieber Was a Woman!

Plus, the Harry Potter star tells MTV that he hadn't even heard of the singer until two weeks ago

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe may be part of one of the biggest pop-culture phenomenons of all time, but as for his own tastes, the young Brit swears he has no idea what's "in" these days.

Radcliffe, 20, no doubt horrified teen girls everywhere when, during an interview with MTV, the actor made a somewhat embarrassing admission about pop singer Justin Bieber.

"I only heard Justin Bieber for the first time two weeks ago. I genuinely thought it was a woman singing. I'd never heard it before," Radcliffe told MTV News. He was genuinely unsure about the popularity of 16-year-old Bieber's top-selling music, asking, "Is it big in England yet?"

Clearly, Radcliffe doesn't have "Bieber Fever," but here's hoping the recording star's impassioned fans don't react with the same kind of violent threats they recently hurled Kim Kardashian's way!

Radcliffe, who cites bands like Radiohead as his musical cup of tea, admitted, "I'm so out of the loop when it comes to pop culture that I kind of don't even try anymore." But the actor is familiar with at least one of today's biggest pop stars.

"I know who Lady Gaga is," he said, adding, "I think she's kind of amazing. She's really got a voice. My god. Not my kind of music, particularly, but she can really sing."

Do you think Daniel Radcliffe was playing dumb, or genuinely didn't know Justin Bieber's gender?  Chime in below!
