Danny Devito: I'm "Working On" My Marriage to Rhea Perlman

The actor split from his wife after 30 years, but now he says they're trying to work things out

When a couple has been together for 30 years, it can be hard to entirely separate from one another. That's the case with Danny Devito and his estranged wife Rhea Perlman, who announced their separation in October.

It was believed at the time that the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star's womanizing ways were to blame for Perlman's decision to want to leave him, but DeVito reveals in a new interview that their relationship might not be entirely over. When speaking with Extra he claims that they haven't really separated their lives yet.

"We're working on it," DeVito says of their marriage. "[Single life is] not something you adjust to. Rhea and I are really close. Actually, still together -- just separate, but together."

A source close to the couple previously said that DeVito and Perlman had been having problems for "probably over 10 years. Like a lot of red-blooded males, if he sees an attractive girl in a coffee shop or walking down the street, he will give her the eye," the source explains. "After years of turning a blind eye to it, Rhea finally snapped. She had enough of his bad-boy behavior and wanted an end to their marriage."

The couple married in 1982. They have three children: Lucy Chet, Grace Fan and Jacob Daniel, all in their 20s.
