Last week, the tabloids were abuzz with the rumor that Courteney Cox was cheating on husband David Arquette with her Cougar Town costar Brian Van Holt (who plays bird-brained Bobby on the ABC sitcom). How did hubby David take the news? He rolled his eyes. And then he assured People that his marriage to Courteney is just fine.
"You know, it's weird, because it turns up in the tabloids, and your friends start calling you like there's a problem," Arquette told the magazine at a charity event. "Like, they say, 'If you need to talk,' you know. Hey, we don't need to talk. There's nothing [wrong]. We have a really great, beautiful relationship... and I feel blessed that she's my wife and we have an amazing family."
Once again, David is defending his more-famous wife against tabloid stories -- and making it clear why their marriage is so rock-solid! In some ways, Arquette has always seemed like an unlikely match for Cox: he's 7 years younger (not that there's anything wrong with that!) and not nearly as well-known for his work in show biz. And Cox, 46, certainly could have landed a more conventional Hollywood stud in her Friends heyday -- remember, costar Jennifer Aniston was with Brad Pitt around the time Cox and Arquette got together. But Arquette, 38, has really proven himself to be one of the best husbands in Hollywood. It seems that he's always making an effort to protect Courteney from hurtful gossip, and he indulges her A-list whims -- even bringing her friends along to couples therapy.
True to form, the couple spent the weekend celebrating their family: their eleventh anniversary was on Saturday, followed by their daughter Coco's sixth birthday on Sunday. As for their future plans: soon they'll be making the fourth Scream film together. Four Scream movies? Now that's love.
