If you're like us, you were shocked to hear the news that after 11 years of marriage Courteney Cox and David Arquette have opted for a trial separation. But now we can stop scratching our heads because, unlike most celebs, Arquette is offering up all the dirty details of their rocky relationship.
The 39-year-old actor called into Howard Stern's Sirius radio program (you can listen to some of the audio on RadarOnline.com) to discuss the breakup that's on everyone's lips. But, in a most un-Hollywood move, Arquette avoided phrases like, "This is a private matter," and instead put it all out on the table.
First and foremost, Arquette confirmed that he did, in fact, sleep with 28-year-old bartender Jasmine Waltz. "I did have sex with her one time, maybe twice," the actor told Stern. "My sexual encounter made me feel pretty manly." Arquette went on to describe Waltz as "my one conquest."
Now that Arquette's cheating rumors have been all cleared up, what about Cox's? There's been plenty of talk about the 46-year-old actress being involved with her Cougar Town costar Brian Van Holt. Arquette claims he knew Cox and Van Holt were carrying on an "emotional affair," but wasn't sure if it was a physical one as well.
But, before we call foul on Arquette, it seems this was all part of the agreement for the couple, who said in a statement that their separation "dates back for some time."
"Part of the terms of our separation was that I was allowed to see other people and so was she," Arquette says. He also describes Cox as an "amazing woman" during the chat.
Of course, there were times during the interview when Arquette perhaps began to head into TMI territory. He spilled that one month before he and Cox (who met in 1995 on the set of the first Scream) began filming Scream 4 in Michigan, they stopped having sex and began to drift apart.
But that was hardly the only surprising nugget. Arquette also says that at one point Cox told him she was "tired of being (his) mother" -- and he insists he never considered having an affair with his wife's BFF Jennifer Aniston because he never found her attractive!
Nevertheless, Arquette expressed that he hopes he and Cox (who are still reportedly working together just fine) can patch things up.
