After Bones' David Boreanaz came clean about cheating on his wife this week (following an alleged blackmail attempt by a mistress), he and his wife, married for nine years, are declaring that they plan to work things out. But that doesn't mean things are all happy-go-lucky for the twosome.
"I’m not saying everything’s okay," Boreanaz's wife, Jamie Bergman, told People. "I'm still angry. I'm still mad. I am still hurt. "
With two children (Jaden, 8, and Bella, 8 months), Bergman and Boreanaz say they have been in therapy for the past year, with the hope that their marriage can be saved.
"It took a crisis, it took infidelity to get us off our asses and work for what we want," admits Bergman. "We do the best we can. That’s all we can do."
Boreanaz, who admitted to multiple infidelities earlier this week, after allegedly being blackmailed by a mistress for cash, says he hopes to restore the solid relationship he and his former Playboy bunny wife once had.
"When we got married, we had an unbelievable foundation that we’ve never forgotten," the Bones star, 40, says. "But it’s been damaged."
"What’s working for us [is] taking our time," says Bergman. "Moment to moment, day to day."
