Did anyone see David Letterman last night? Tom Cruise was on, chuckling away. I think that's the way he avoids actually saying anything of interest: He laughs.
It was almost like this:
Dave: Good to see you Tom.
Tom: Ha ha ha ha.
Dave: How's Katie?
Tom: Magnificent. Ha ha ha ha.
Dave: How's the baby?
Tom: Amazing. Ha ha ha ha.
Dave: Did you have a good time making this movie?
Tom: Oh yeah. Ha ha ha ha.
I mean, I love Dave and think he's funny, but he's not that funny.
The best line of the night is when the new dad told Dave he can't tear himself away from Suri.
"Kate and I can't take our eyes off of her," he gushed.
Pretty funny considering the kid is three weeks old and Daddy has spent the last week in Paris, London, Rome, Mexico City and New York without her.
Today, Chuckles Cruise will spend another day away from his baby. He'll be in Manhattan for the second day in a row, promoting his new movie. Part of his gimmick is that he'll be making his way around the city via fire engine, speedboat, helicopter, sports car and subway to do press.
I better look both ways before crossing the street.
