American Flag Lanterns

What You’ll Need: Small white paper bags, hole puncher, red and white paints, sand, paint brushes and tea light candles.

Ages 5 and up

These patriotic luminaries are a perfect way to keep the celebrations going well after the firworks show. Paint an American flag onto both sides of the paper bag, punch little holes all over and fill the bag with an inch of sand. Then, line your walkway, backyard or porch and have the kids place a flashlight inside to make them glow! Or, if you want to display them the whole night and you're sure no kids will be around them, you can use a tealight instead. For full instructions visit Aunt Peaches.
