| 26 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips | 4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder | |
| 2/3 cup butter | 1 teaspoon vanilla extract | |
| 1 cup sugar | 4 tablespoons sour cream | |
| 4 eggs | 2 cup heavy cream | |
| 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour |
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease 9 x 3-inch cake pan (high sides are necessary because cake rises substantially during baking).
Melt 8 ounces chocolate with butter in double boiler.
While butter is melting, beat eggs in mixing bowl and add sugar, flour, cocoa powder, vanilla extract and baking powder.
Fold in sour cream, melted butter/chocolate chips.
Pour into cake pan, sprinkle in 8 ounces of chocolate chips.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes. Cake is done when toothpick poked into cake comes out clean.
Let cake cool thoroughly before frosting (at least 30 minutes in refrigerator).
