Never say Debra Messing doesn't make sacrifices for her child. Although the 43-year-old former Will & Grace star announced Tuesday that she had separated from Daniel Zelman, her husband of 10 years, earlier this year, a source tells Us Weekly that the couple continues to live together for the sake of their 7-year-old son Roman.
According to Us Weekly's source, Messing and Zellman's split was "very amicable" -- so amicable, in fact, that they recently moved from Los Angeles to New York City together so that Messing could focus on her work on the upcoming NBC show Smash (debuting Feb. 6).
"The decision (to split) was mutual," Messing's rep said in a statement Tuesday. "They remain supportive of one another and committed to raising their son as a family."
In keeping with that statement, Messing revealed to LilSugar in November that she was very excited to spend the holidays in N.Y.C. with Zelman and Roman. "We love to go skating at Wolman rink, and go see plays," she said. "Looking forward to putting on the snowsuit and stomping through Central Park."
While Messing's reps have yet to confirm the reports that she and Zellman are still living under the same roof, it at least seems that the amicable exes really are "committed to raising their son as a family."
