It sounds like rehab was the right choice for Demi Moore. Five weeks after smoking an unknown substance at a party and collapsing into convulsions, Moore, 49, has been through treatment, gone on vacation and is ready to face the world again.
"Demi is in a much better place," a source tells People. "She has been working on herself a lot."
Following her frightening hospitalization at the end of January, the actress stepped out of the public eye and reportedly checked into Cirque Lodge in Sundance, Utah. Sources say that she was receiving treatment for both an eating disorder and addiction issues at the super-isolated treatment center, which costs $1,595 a day. While Demi's family did not confirm her whereabouts, her daughter Rumer Willis commented on her progress in mid-February.
"My mother is on the road to recovery," Rumer, 23, told the press at an event in Germany. "It's slow going but we believe in her."
Last week, it was reported that Moore had left rehab and was on vacation. Several sources claimed that the actress had been spotted at Parrot Cay in Turks and Caicos, where her ex-husband Bruce Willis owns a home. However, People is reporting that she chose a different getaway spot, although the magazine does not reveal its location.
Wherever she ended up going to kick up her heels, it seems to have done her some good.
Moore returned to Los Angeles three days ago via private jet, looking tanned, albeit very thin. She is currently keeping a low profile, although she has reportedly been visited by her ex-husband Ashton Kutcher. But sources say she's just happy to be home.
"She is content," a Demi insider tells People. Hopefully, she will continue on this path -- we're rooting for her!
