The state of Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher's marriage is a mystery -- but she's still playing the part of supportive wife. On Friday, Moore, 48, and her daughter Rumer, 23, paid a friendly visit to Kutcher, 33, on the set of Two and a Half Men.
"Demi didn't come on the actual shooting set or anything -- she never does -- but she spent the day on the lot in his massive trailer," an insider tells Us Weekly.
That's cool -- but, seriously, have you seen those pictures of Ashton's trailer? A family of four could spend a week in there and never even see one another!
The insider, however, says that Mr. and Mrs. Kutcher were acting like any other married couple. Moore reportedly laid low while Kutcher "joked around with the audience after the shoot." Then when the sitcom star returned to his gargantuan trailer, "he put his arm around Demi and they acted like a couple."
"They were talking and smiling at each other," says the source. "Everything seemed just like normal."
Nothing, of course, has seemed "just like normal" lately for the Twitter-addicted couple. Just as the dust was settling on last year's cheating scandal, 22-year-old Sara Leal gave the press a very detailed account of her alleged hookup with Kutcher on his sixth wedding anniversary in September.
Demi and Ashton have been silent on the cheating scandal, leading to rampant speculation about their recent camping trip (rumored to be a session with a marriage counselor), Moore's dramatic weight loss and the moving truck spotted outside their home earlier this month. There's also a juicy, if completely unsubstantiated rumor that Kutcher is the unknown father of January Jones' baby.
Some reports claim that a divorce is in the works for Ashton and Demi. But do couples on the verge of divorce generally visit each other at work? Who knows what's really going on? All we can do right now is speculate -- and in a video Kutcher made last week, he urges people not to believe everything in the press (though he never explicity connects his philosophical ramblings to what's currently going on in his personal life).
"There's a saying that a lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth can hit someone's lips," says Kutcher in the video, which shows the actor not wearing his wedding band.
Maybe Kutcher could get more specific in his next video? It's about time this whole thing was put to bed.
