Desperate Housewives' Nicollete Sheridan vs. Marc Cherry

Now that it's after the fact, and it's already written in the script that Nicolette Sheridan is being killed off Desperate Housewives, everyone's telling us how they really feel about it.

As expected, Nicolette is totally playing it cool.

"I said, 'OK, sayonara. It's been a great ride. Thank you,'" the actress told the new issue of TV Guide, when she heard Edie was meeting her maker. Then she threw this out to DH creator Marc Cherry: "Somebody up there really wanted her dead. I think whoever Edie represented in Marc's life was somebody he didn't like, and he had a very difficult time distinguishing between fact and fiction."

Mee-ow!

But, of course, Marc wasn't going to just let that go -- he needed hit back.

"Edie's already slept with most of the guys on the street and has caused about as many problems as she could," Marc said of why it was time for Nic to go. And, as for her replacement, it doesn't seem like it will be anything close to what Nicolette brought to the show.

"We will find a new kind of sexiness coming through Wisteria Lane," he said. "What I won't do is cast another forty something sexy blonde... [Nicollette] performed the aging neighborhood tramp better than anyone has ever done before."

Um, ouch! Is it me or did that sting?
