Last time we heard that Rihanna and Chris Brown broke up, it was a false alarm. So should we believe this latest report? According to E! News, the controversial couple has gone their separate ways. "Per the insider, RiRi will always love Chris but has moved on and is reshifting her focus to her career and business ventures," says the entertainment channel's source. Shall we look at the evidence and see if it holds up?
First of all, it's been weeks since the singers were photographed together. That's not a smoking gun, though, since Rihanna is busy with her "Diamonds" tour and Brown has been promoting his new album. In fact, a source at HollywoodLife claimed the couple was planning to catch up in Los Angeles on Sunday.
But did that reunion happen? Rihanna went solo to a Lakers game on Sunday evening, in what can only be called a notice-me outfit. Even more telling: on Saturday night, Brown was seen holding hands with a blonde girl at a Hollywood nightclub.
Okay, so let's take a look at Twitter. On April 3, Rihanna retweeted a horoscope that may have hinted at relationship trouble:
Was Brown the one playing games? That tweet was posted two days after the "Fine China" singer told Today's Matt Lauer that he and Rihanna were still going strong. Would it be too cynical to wonder if Brown was just saying that to make himself look better? (Like, if Rihanna could forgive him for beating her up, so should we?) After all, that radio interview did sound suspiciously like a confirmation that they'd broken up. That's pretty much the definition of "playing games."
Or maybe not. There's been no official confirmation from either celebrity. One thing we know for sure: Whoever Rihanna was with on Sunday night, she had a good time. This morning on Instagram, she posted photo evidence that she'd fallen asleep in her designer heels!
