There's nothing the writers of Glee like more than a love triangle -- and it seems to be rubbing off on the cast members! According to E!, two members of New Directions were hooking up in Vegas this past weekend. And one of them might have been doing it to make a third cast member jealous. Intrigued? Read on!
Naya Rivera, who plays bratty cheerleader Santana on Glee, celebrated her twenty-fourth birthday on January 12th. For her birthday party, Rivera invited friends to the Bank nightclub at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. The cast members who joined her in the VIP section included Cory Monteith (Finn), Kevin McHale (Artie), Amber Riley (Mercedes), Heather Morris (Brittany) … and Chord Overstreet (Sam), who had some extra hugs for the birthday girl.
"They were all over each other," said a partygoer of Naya and Chord, 21. Another guest confirmed: "Yeah, they hooked up. Who knows where it will go."
Nobody would blame those two good-looking kids for getting together -- but does Naya have an ulterior motive? Rivera dated another co-star --Mark Salling, who plays Puck -- in 2010. The rumor is that they had been hooking up for months before Rivera realized that Salling was seeing other women. Rivera, who had wrongly assumed that they were exclusive, allegedly keyed his car and egged his house in a jealous rage. In August, Salling and Rivera posted a jokey Twit pic in an attempt to squash the story -- but insiders still claim that Rivera went off the deep end.
One of E!'s sources says that Naya went after Chord to make her ex jealous, since Mark and Chord are buddies.
"Funny thing is, [Mark] couldn't care less," says the source.
He also wasn't around to see it; both Salling and Lea Michele were notably absent from the festivities. Wonder if Glee's spring episodes will have as much drama as the cast generates off-camera?
