Hmm, maybe Justin Bieber's heart-wrenching new breakup song is making Selena Gomez have second thoughts! On Saturday morning, Gomez, 20, was photographed leaving Bieber's house, escorted (in the nice way, not in the "get out of here" way) by Justin's bodyguard.
Maybe that New Year's split wasn't so final after all?
It really seemed like Selena and Bieber, 18, were ready to go their separate ways. Last week, Gomez told E! News that she was doing "really good," working on her new album and "having a lot of fun with my girlfriends, having a good time." She's also been spotted hanging out with at least one other guy.
Justin, on the other hand, doesn't seem to be doing so well. Those photos that appeared to show him smoking weed have given way to rumors that he's getting high on "purple drank" (a.k.a. codeine-laced cough syrup). He doesn't seem to have a new lady in his life, but he did grope a female fan for a photo opp and flash his butt on Instagram. And then he released that oh-so-sad single about how he and Selena belong together, "Nothing Like Us."
"Some of these rumors about me are getting a little out of control now. dont believe the bs," Bieber tweeted this weekend. "Gonna focus on the positive. i understand that rumors come with the territory but im gonna stay me."
Is Gomez is returning to Bieber because she's worried about him? Or because hearing his song upset her? Or because she was feeling lonely? Maybe she was just picking up some DVDs she left behind.
No matter what the reason, we're thinking it's time for both of these kids to move on. Two years together is an eternity when you're a teenager, but now that they're both approaching adulthood, Selena and Justin need to figure out how to live apart. They can't keep extending this on-again, off-again thing indefinitely. And we've already thoroughly explained why we think Selena is better off single.
Sure, they could end up back together, but we doubt it; they just don't seem to make each other happy any more. We think that Selena, clearly the more mature person in the relationship, should resolve to stop going back to Bieber. After all, the world only needs so many covers of "Cry Me a River."
