Did Someone Take Advantage of Snow White?

Jamieson Brewery

The Walt Disney Company doesn’t have a reputation for unlimited patience when it comes to misappropriation of its beloved characters. So it’s no surprise the House of Mouse reportedly had issues with an ad for Australia’s Jamieson’s Raspberry Ale featuring a familiar-looking character named “Ho White,” naked in bed with several bare-chested dwarves.

How this ad sells more beer is beyond me, but then again I said the same thing about talking frogs and Clydesdales.

According to Australian news reports, the campaign’s creators said the idea was to “convince Australian drinkers that the fruit-flavored beer was anything but sweet.”

Australia’s Food Week reports that the ale campaign’s website has been removed and speculates a claim of copyright infringement, but Disney remains mum on the issue.

Just when you chalk this up to corporate carelessness, along comes this alleged tweet from Snow White herself.

SNOWT123: “OMG! Drank laced apple juice @ party in Sydney, woke up in bed with my boyz. Who slipped me a mickey?”
