Last week Miley Cyrus' parents, Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus, announced that they were splitting after 17 years of marriage. Now, sources are buzzing that it was an affair between Tish and rocker Bret Michaels that's sending the couple to divorce court.
Insiders say Billy Ray learned of the alleged fling between his wife and Michaels, before filing papers on Oct. 27.
A close connection between Michaels and Tish developed while the VH1 reality star was working with Miley on their duet "Nothing to Lose" in February. Soon after, the two reportedly began an affair. On Feb. 28, Tish was seen at Michaels' concert at the Key Club in L.A., and the singer had once asked her production company’s help to adapt his book, Roses & Thorns, into a movie.
Reps for both Michaels and Tish Cyrus deny the allegations, and Michael's mouthpiece told Us Weekly, "There has never been an affair or a fling." But a source tells the magazine otherwise. "It was a professional relationship that turned into something more," the source says.
Michaels is currently in a relationship with his longtime girlfriend Kristi Gibson -- who is the mother of his two daughters, Raine, 10, and Jorja, 5, and has put up with watching Michaels get his fill of other women on season after season of Rock of Love. As for Miley's dad, well, sources say he was completely blindsided by the alleged affair.
"Billy Ray was completely unaware of what was going on," the source says of the Hannah Montana star. He is now seeking joint custody of their three minor children, Miley (who turns 18 Nov. 23), Braison, 16, and Noah, 10.
