Sean “Diddy” Combs may be the King of Bling, but now he’s crowned his prince -- 16-year-old Justin Dior Combs -- by giving him not so much the keys to the kingdom, as the keys to a really, really pricey car.
At a lavish bash in a New York City nightclub on Saturday, Diddy, 40, gifted Justin a silver Maybach. Price tag for the wheels? A cool $360,000. According to the New York Daily News, the shiny new ride, wrapped in a big red bow, sat outside the club with a uniformed driver at the wheel. (At 16, Justin is still learning to drive.) But the over-the-top gifting didn’t end there. UsMagazine.com reports that Diddy also gave his son a $10,000 check; Justin, whose mother is Diddy's ex, fashion stylist Misa Hylton-Brim, reportedly donated the funds to earthquake relief efforts in Haiti.
During the party, Diddy, who has four other children from other relationships, asked his eldest to take the stage and sit on a throne, while MTV cameras captured the festivities for an upcoming episode of My Super Sweet 16. The wall-to-wall crowd went wild when the likes of Fabolous, Lil' Kim and Jim Jones took to the mic to perform. Also on the guest list were Jersey Shore stars Paul Delvecchio and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi.
But if anyone expected Justin to carry on like an overprivileged brat, he was anything but. "I'm just ecstatic right now," the birthday boy reportedly said. "Words can't even describe how I feel. I'm so blessed and thankful for all of this."
Diddy told Us he's proud of how his son "has grown and matured ... how well behaved he is. How respectful of a kid he is. It just makes me proud." The rapper and entrepreneur said the extravagant fete was certainly a stark contrast to his own 16th-birthday celebration. "I don't think I even had a party!" Diddy said. "I think I had a cake -- and that was it!"
