Diet & ADHD
I was just reading the Q&A on foods and ADHD and I would like to comment on the suggestions. Although I realize that no controlled studies have been done, I have talked to many other parents about diet and we all agree that certain foods make ADHD symptoms far worse in our children. In particular, red food dye is a biggie. It seems to be more severe with pre-schoolers, although my 11-year old gets very irritable and volatile after consuming "agent red". Therefore, the advice to Rebecca to give her child a multi-vitamin such as Flintstones may actually make the child worse. We buy special vitamins for Nathan from the health food store which contain no food dyes. Would you please pass these comments on?
