Are tabloid fixtures Lindsay Lohan and Dina Lohan just "misunderstood" women with a strong bond, or a mother and daughter in denial? In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Lohans address rumors, including Lindsay's reputation in show business for partying.
In the sit-down interview, Lindsay insisted, "I don't go out when I'm working," adding that her partygoing is harmless because, "I'm 23 and I'm allowed to do that." Her mother Dina agreed, saying, "Everyone does that. That is like normal growth; she's 23." Is that really something a mother should say about her nightclub-hopping daughter, who has openly admitted to a drug and alcohol problem?
As for being snapped by paps when she's stumbled while walking, the Mean Girls star claimed, "I'm the most clumsy person in the world. I do trip a lot. I fall. I walk into walls sometimes."
The troubled star -- who filed a lawsuit earlier this year over a TV ad featuring a baby named Lindsay -- says there is no need to worry about her: "I am fine. I am happy and I am working. And I'm good. And I'm surrounded by great friends now. You know, I have weeded out a lot of people in my life."
Meanwhile, Dina stands by her daughter's proclamations. "We are just very misunderstood," she said, "And when I read it, it breaks my heart because (the rumors are) not true. I am going to cry. I'm really going to cry. She has the biggest heart of anyone on the planet."
As Mother's Day approaches, it was nice to hear Lindsay say positive things about her mom (with whom she clearly has a better bond with than her trouble making father Michael Lohan), including, " We have a good relationship. We fight like friends do. She is a very strong woman. I've learned a lot. Not every mother has to read false stories about their daughter. It's nice to know she has sat by me through all of that. She knows what is really happening in my life."
