Really?! Dina Lohan Gives Amanda Bynes' Parents Advice

Lindsay Lohan's mom offered up some empathetic words to help Bynes' parents -- meanwhile, Amanda's latest trouble involves her locking herself in the bathroom at an NYC bakery!

Though the media has frequently compared the downward spiral of the Nickelodeon child star Amanda Bynes to former Disney starlet Lindsay Lohan, Lilo's mother Dina Lohan refuses to see the similarities.

The 50-year-old woman made her first video appearance on Entertainment Tonight following her disastrous Dr. Phil interview and was asked about the issues Bynes has been having. It turns out that Dina doesn't think that her situation is similar to that of Rick and Lynn Bynes.

"You know, I'm a mother, and I feel that that's for her mother to speak about, and not me, because people have spoken for my child and myself," Dina said. "I really feel that's for her parents to discuss and Amanda herself."

Unfortunately Bynes -- who just pleaded not guilty to two counts of hit-and-run -- has shut her parents out, Us Weekly reports. But Dina does acknowledge that both young women are at a difficult age because they feel like they are adults -- though the 26-year-olds aren't acting like it.

"Just be around. It's hard when your daughter's not, you know, over 18, and you want to let them go and they want to feel like they're in control of themselves," Dina said. "It's a very strategic place for a parent to be, but she'll be ok."

Dina also confirmed that she wasn't drunk during her Dr. Phil appearance, saying, "I was absolutely not under, intoxicated, or on any kind of medication. I was extremely upset." So were we just from watching it.

As for Bynes, her bizarre behavior continues. While she's no longer getting behind the wheel, her latest headline involves her locking herself in the bathroom of a New York City bakery on Wednesday night. The starlet, who recently landed in the Big Apple, spent more than 30 minutes in the bathroom at the Little Cupcake Bakeshop in Soho, which eventually led to the shop closing for the night to focus on what was going on with her.

One of the bakery's patrons, who was actually a New York City fireman, banged on the doow numerous times because he feared she was unconscious. "The workers at the bakery even turned down the music to see if they could hear any noise coming from the bathroom," said a source to Celebuzz

We hope she gets her act together quickly before things get more serious!
