Dinosaur Train

Network: PBS
Age: Preschool
Premieres: Sept. 7 (will air weekdays)

From The Jim Henson Company comes the new CGI animated series combining two perennial preschooler fascinations: trains and dinosaurs. This weekday series explores different aspects of science through jungles, swamps, volcanoes and oceans. So hop those kids on the Dinosaur Train and join Buddy, a young Tyrannosaurs rex and with his adoptive Pteranodon family of Tiny, Shiny and Don, as well as mom and dad. They are led on each journey by the train conductor who makes sure everyone knows about the different eras that dinosaurs lived in. Each episode also features Dr. Scott (Scott Sampson), a paleontologist who explains the different kinds of dinosaurs and helps kids to understand why learning about dinosaurs is relevant to their lives today. The show also features an interactive Web site with games and a field guide of dinosaurs.
