Dirty Dancing Shimmies to Broadway

This made me so happy I ran into my husband's arms and we did "the lift."

Fine, so that didn't happen, but I am so excited to tell you that a stage version one of the BEST movies of all time, Dirty Dancing, is, very possibly, heading to Broadway.

Nothing has been confirmed, but the show, "Dirty Dancing -- The Classic Story Onstage", is already a huge hit in Toronto, Hamburg, and London, so it would just be silly not to be bring it to The Great White Way for a little NYC love.

If you've lived under rock, or maybe you're not as old as me, the show will be based very closely on the 1987 movie. It tells the tale of a forbidden romance, in the Catskills in 1963, between a very good girl and very hot dance instructor.

Songs from the flick are going to be used in the show (such good music!), but it's not technically a musical because the actors don't sing.

Variety says the show could take over Hairspray's spot at the Neil Simon theater next fall.

I'm already planning on having the time of my life.
