The American Society for Testing & Materials (ASTM) developed a standard for the manufacturing of public playground equipment entitled "Standard Consumer Safety Performance Specification for Playground Equipment for Public Use." For a copy of this standard contact the ASTM and ask for the F 1487-93 Standard.
