Gold accents are so HOT right now! However, being a child of the 70s and already riding the gold wave once, I'm having a hard time embracing this trend again. However, I have found that I'm enjoying it in small doses with an updated look like on this dish. This dish is now the perfect way to catch my daily items, but in a stylish way. This is an easy craft to bring the current gold trend into your home in small steps. Combined with a chevron pattern, you've got yourself a winner.

What you'll need:

White Porcelain dish
Gilding Sheets
Painters Tape
Gilding adhesive
Paint brushes - one for applying the adhesive and a soft bristle one for brushing the last bits of gliding flecks off the final project.
Gilding glove

Clean and dry your dish so it's free from dirt, grease and dust.

Using your painters tape, apply in the design desired. I went with an abstract design, starting from corner to corner first, then applying stripes in and even style. Make sure the tape is pressed down securely.

Step 2:

Apply a light coat of gilding adhesive to the exposed areas. Allow to dry until it's tacky and not wet. (about 15-20 min)

Step 3:

Here's the tricky part. Follow the application directions on the gilding package. Using the glove to press it onto the tacky sections.

Once you have it applied to all the areas needed, let it sit for a couple of hours.

Pull the tape up gently, with your gloved hand ready to apply more rubbing on any gliding that decides to lift.

Once all the tape is pulled up, use your gliding brush (soft bristle) brush to brush off any loose flecks.

You're done!
