 Clay Gold Leaf Ornament

You Are My Fave

I think every tree needs a little gold gilding this year. Here’s a simple DIY way to do just that. These can also make great gift toppers as long as you don’t get the initials mixed up.

What you'll need:

Polymer clay
Alphabet cookie cutters
Toothpick
Gilding adhesive
Gilding sheets

Roll the clay out and use a circle cookie cutter (or lid) to cut out circles. Then, use the alphabet cookie cutters to cut out a letter in the middle of each circle.

Step 2:

Cut out a small hole to the upper left of the letter with a toothpick.

Let the clay dry according to package instructions. When completely dry, apply a coat of gilding adhesive to the top of the ornament. Then apply the gilding sheet and press firmly down to adhere.

Gently peel away the backing. String twine through the small hole and knot to finish your personalized ornament.

You're done!
