Not every gift needs to be wrapped extravagantly, but there are occasions when a well-wrapped gift is required - and for those times, there's nothing better than homemade wrapping paper and customized wrapping decorations. Use this DIY project the next time you need to wrap a hostess present or a gift for that extra-special someone.
What You'll Need:
- Roll of paper
- Sheet of foam (for stamp)
- Wood block
- Paints and paint pens
- Glitter, doilies, ribbon, etc.
- Hot glue gun
- Stamp stencil shapes - download here: HEART, STAR or SNOWFLAKE
STEP 1. Use the stencil to trace your desired shape onto the foam sheet and cut it out. Make sure your shape will fit entirely on the wooden block.
STEP 2. Glue the foam cut-out to the wood block and allow the glue to set and dry completely.
STEP 3. Coat your foam stamp with paint, then evenly and firmly press down on the paper. Repeat to create your desired pattern. Get creative with how you decorate the paper by sprinkling glitter on the paint and drawing with paint pens.
STEP 4. Begin wrapping your gift!
STEP 5. When wrapping your gift be sure to make even folds to ensure a pretty result.
STEP 6. Add embellishment by applying double stick tape and sprinklling with glitter. Use decorative ribbon - or jazz up plain ribbon with spray adhesive and a coating of glitter - to pull it all together with a bow on top.
STEP 7. Add a charm as a finishing touch and then give your beautifully-wrapped gift to someone special!
