This string wall art DIY is so easy to make and the perfect element to bring some festive cheer to you home. We made three smaller pieces with three different designs that can be placed all over your home or you can group them together above the fireplace or a floating shelf.

What you'll need:

A4 (21 cm x30 cm ) plywood, or any piece of wood roughly that size that will hold the nails (stay clear of compressed wood)
Paint, we used a charcoal colour to accentuate the contrast of our pattern in cream colored string
A medium sized paintbrush
Printed template on an A4 paper
30 mm flat head nails
Hammer
Spray Paint (optional)
String or yarn

Step 1:

Place the template paper onto the wood. It should fit perfectly.

Hammer the nail onto every red dot on the template.

Step 3:

Spray paint the nails the same colour as the string if you would like to disguise it a bit better.

Step 4:

Tie a knot around one nail, wind the string around the nails and start winding the string in patterns around the nails until the shape starts to form. There is no wrong or right. You can follow your own pattern, or the suggested lines on the pattern.

Step 5:

Remove the paper, by tearing it away. Throw away the bits of paper.

You're done!
