DIY: Neutral Feather Hair Extensions

When fashion and beauty blogger Anna Saccone of annasaccone.com decided to try the hair feather trend, she had two requirements: "They had to be 100% cruelty-free," says the animal-lover, "and I wanted them to look subtle and natural-no super-bright colors. I absolutely adore them and don't think I'll ever grow tired of them!"

DO IT YOURSELF!

Style:

Step 1: Choose where you want to place your first feather—usually a spot toward your face and underneath one layer of your hair. Clip the hair directly above so you have room to work.

Step 2: Take a thin strand of hair—about the width of your hair feather—and thread it through the loop that’s attached to the end of the feather extension. Pull on the attached toggle and use pliers to clamp the toggle shut.

Step 3: If your hair is wavy like Anna’s, gently wrap the feather extension around a curling iron.

Tip! “They’re really low maintenance,” says Anna. “Treat them gently and they’ll last up to six weeks.”
