DIY: Romantic Mini Buns

This darling, delicate style was created by Christina Butcher of We love that it's pretty enough for a summertime date, but discreet enough for the office!



Prep: This style is very flexible in that your hair can be dry or damp, says Christina. In fact, she points out, "You can cheat by blow-drying just the top of your hair to keep it smooth -- and leaving the bottom towel-dried. To prevent flyaways, work a drop or two of light oil through the ends.”


Step 1: Part your hair on the side and push all hair back and away from your face.

Step 2: Take a small section of hair behind your left ear and twist and pin on your neckline.

Step 3: Skipping the middle section, do the same twist and pin behind your right ear and pin on your neckline.

Step 4: Separate the rest of your hair into equal sections and repeat, twisting into little buns and pinning on the nape of your neck. Says Christina: “Don’t try to do them in a row—it’s much easier to get a straight line of buns if you do the leftmost and rightmost first.”

Set: Spritz all over with hairspray, which prevents frizz and flyaways.
