Get pretty in punk with these versatile DIY earrings from Love Maegan

 Studded Drop Earrings

I love these earrings! You can choose to add one chain or two — or as many as will fit on your post-back earrings! You can also decide to wear one chain in the front of your earlobe and the other behind. They're the perfect gift for girlfriends: Not only are they simple and quick to make, you can design them for each friend's style by simply using different stud earrings as the base and choosing between gold or silver chains and spikes. And since punk looks are all over the runways right now, these simple DIY spike earrings are right on trend!

What you'll need:

Stud earrings (I used black crystal squares with an open back, but any post or stud will work)
Fine gold or silver cable chain that matches the metal of your earrings
Small jump rings
Silver or gold plastic spikes
Beading pliers, with wire cutters if your fine chain is locked

Step 1:

Choose stud earrings with a post back. Determine how long you wish your spikes to hang and cut your chain to the desired length.

Step 2:

Open a jump ring and slide your chain and spike onto the loop.

Close with pliers and lay flat.

Simply slide the chain over the post stud.

Step 5:

Make another longer or shorter spike chain and add it to the post stud as well. The earring back will hold the chains in place when worn.

You're done!
