DIY! Zoe Saldana's Perfect Ponytail

The star's hairstylist tells you how to recreate her elegant red carpet look

To complement the actress’s bold makeup and ornate Balmain gown at the Colombiana premiere in Miami, Saldana’s hairstylist Mara Roszak refined the classic low ponytail by adding texture and leaving front tousles loose to accentuate her face. Do it yourself by following Roszak’s simple prep, style and set.

Prep: Apply Josie Maran Argon Oil serum to damp hair, then blow dry.

Style: Spray Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray liberally on hair. Rub a bit of Oribe Pomade between palms and run hands through hair to create texture. Then gather hair into a low pony and secure with elastic.

Set: Wrap a small piece of chain from an old necklace around the elastic and fasten with crisscrossed bobby pins. Spray with Leonor Greyl Voluforme hairspray to set.
