"People tend to think if we sit and ruminate on an idea that it will result in a more creative product. But research shows that those who put their ideas out there end up with a more creative product," says Bilder. When starting a creative project, like writing a story or making a craft, jump into it instead of thinking of what it will look like in the end. "It may mean going through a few versions, but you can start something and then be objective and prune away less creative parts as you go," says Bilder.
