Fooling yourself...by buying clothes that do not fit.
We all have found that piece that we fell in love with, you know the…if only I lost ten pounds it would fit perfectly dress…! Don't do it!
Shopping should be an experience you enjoy, and the “I can’t wait to wear this tomorrow” attitude is good for you! It is exciting to have something new that actually flatters your figure!
When customers come to the counter they tell me what pieces they are going to wear and when…and they are thrilled about them! They were open-minded and tried on new dress bodies and had fun at the same time. Not everyone looks great in every style…you have to accept that… let out a giggle and move on without putting yourself down. When I hear laughter coming from the dressing room…I knew the client took a chance on a style, realized it wasn’t for her….and just laughed. It’s ok! Shopping supposed to be fun!
You want to look good now. You need to find clothes that flatter you and your shape you have now. Not the way you think you will look in a month from now (there is always tailoring). Having a dress that is two sizes too small in your closet might inspire you to stick to your diet… but you still need something to wear to work tomorrow, for your cousins wedding and for that hot date you have on Saturday night!
So try to find stuff that fits right……..right now! Find your shape and show it off. Everyone has one! You will look great and feel great about it. The clothes are out there…you just have to look for them!
