She's been called a plastic-surgery addict, but a new report indicates that Heidi Montag may be dealing with another addiction entirely: pain meds. Sources from the set of The Hills told Us Weekly that they've seen a change in Montag, 23, since her controversial plastic surgery. And no, it's not just a change in cup size.
"She's a shell of her former self," says one source. Us claims that the change in Montag's personality can be attributed to pain meds, which she has allegedly been taking since her day-long cosmetic-surgery binge last November.
Prescription drugs, of course, are a serious problem in Hollywood these days: in the past two years, Michael Jackson, Heath Ledger and Corey Haim have all died from prescription drug overdoses. And painkiller addictions are often triggered by surgery, as Jamie Lee Curtis knows all too well: The movie star fought a morphine addiction after "a routine cosmetic surgical procedure."
Then again, Us sources suggest that Montag and husband Spencer Pratt are addicted to one thing above all others: fame. "As The Hills winds down and people start to care less, they are desperate to get back that high," one tells Us. If that's the case, Montag should check herself into Dr. Drew's Celebrity Rehab pronto; she could cure one addiction while feeding the other.
