Ryan Phillippe may soon be a dad again -- and his current squeeze is not the mother. Phillippe, 26, has been seeing Red Riding Hood star Amanda Seyfried on and off again for a few months now. Earlier last year, however, the actor was dating model-actress Alexis Knapp -- who is now conspicuously pregnant.
"She's in the second trimester," sources close to Knapp told Us Weekly magazine. "She has been telling people (Phillippe) is the father."
Knapp, an up-and-coming star who will appear in the Miley Cyrus comedy So Undercover, dated Phillippe on and off before he broke up with her in September. The following month, Phillippe started seeing Seyfried. (The Lincoln Lawyer star was also linked this year to singer Rihanna, although Seyfried has denied that the two had a fling.) The actor already has two children -- Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7 -- with ex-wife Reese Witherspoon. So how does he feel about the possibility of being a new dad (again)?
"Ryan doesn't know if he is the dad," says Us Weekly's insider. "If he is, he will take responsibility for the child."
Another source added that the relationship between Phillippe and Knapp had been "pretty serious," and that the actor "loves being a dad and takes being a dad really seriously."
In other words: he's no deadbeat.
On Friday's Ellen DeGeneres Show, Phillippe was coy about his love life -- but talked about needing to explain the term "DILF" to his mother (watch below!). Sounds like that's a label he could be holding onto for a while.
