Don't Fear the Pain

Don't be afraid! I had a long labor and over two and a half hours of pushing. Yes, it was painful and not something I could do every day, but it's not that bad. There are worse things in life than a contraction. You will survive. The real "problem" with labor is that it's very tiring to be in pain that long. Stubbing your toe may hurt, but imagine stubbing it every three to four minutes for six or eight hours -- and anticipating it every time.
