Hundreds of charitable organizations provide food and education for the needy, or sell food on their behalf. Here are three to consider: God’s Love We Deliver, which offers free meals and nutritional counseling to people living with illnesses such as HIV and AIDS; Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, which supports pediatric cancer research through donations and the proceeds from cookie sales; and the Chez Panisse Foundation, which helps educate children about food, health and the environment. Want to contribute closer to home? Simply contact your local food pantry and volunteer to prep food, make deliveries or perform administrative duties.
