Donatella Arpaia, the dynamic attorney-turned restaurateur, is an influential force in the New York dining scene. Not only a food expert and authority on entertaining, she is also a successful businesswoman who has created a string of successful restaurants within only a few years—first the award-winning Manhattan restaurant davidburke & donatella, followed by her popular Mediterranean restaurants Dona, Mia Dona, Anthos and Kefi.
Donatella often translates her expertise gained from her restaurants and applies them to entertaining at home. She has provided advice for Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Good Morning America, the Today show and more, with her signature panache. Donatella also demonstrated her selective palate and star quality as a member of the judging panel for the Food Network's reality series The Next Iron Chef and Iron Chef America, along with a guest judging appearance on Top Chef, season five.
Donatella was included on Crain's list of "40 under 40" and was named the 31st "Most Powerful Woman" in Manhattan by The New York Post. She was also called "The Hostess with the Mostest" by Zagat.
In 2006, Donatella launched her successful high-end food collection which features tomato sauces, olive oil and almond cookies. All products are available nationwide and on Donatella's website DonatellaStyle.com. She will be publishing her first cookbook with Rodale in 2010.
