Do You Think You're More Beautiful Than You Say? We Hope So!

A forensic artist was asked to draw two portraits of each woman -- one based on her description of herself and a companion piece based on other people's description of her. Here's what happened:

I sit here trying to think of words for my own face and the only that come to mind are: “round, flat, giant, round, round, round…” If I were being drawn right now, my portrait would wind up looking like Mrs. Potato Head. I guess I have a nice smile -- people often say I do. But it somehow actually feels weird, almost egotistical, to describe myself with any positivity. Is the problem that I am too modest? I've never actually seen somebody cry from over-modesty -- so that couldn't be what the women in the video were so upset about during their portrait reveals.

No. They were upset because they realized how over-critical they were of themselves. The problem is that we feel ashamed to be proud of our own bodies because we are always being told that we can eat better, workout better…we can be better.

Think about how you would describe yourself to a forensic artist. Then, think about how lucky we are that at least other people can see the beauty inside us.

Then, be kinder to yourself and your skin...and use Dove.
