While this isn’t a full-on costume party per se, a little wardrobe ingenuity should be strongly encouraged. Be sure to let your guests know on the invitations that you’d love for them to show up dressed in duds from their favorite of the decades that the party is covering. Feeling Don Draper-y? Perhaps a little early-Madonna-ish? Your friends will have a blast revisiting the styles (and style icons) of yesteryear. Besides, people should have the right to costume up without being surrounded by jack-o-lanterns every now and then, right?
