How wise of you to question, and not to leave it in someone else's hands.
If you want a continually updated reference, the book, Drugs in Pregnancy and Lactation by Briggs is a compendium of all of the studies and reports of all medications and their effects on the pregnancy and the baby. It is expensive, so if you don't want to purchase it, a local medical library should have a copy for you to look at.
Pharmacists are also under-utilized resources. You could call your local children's hospital pharmacy and talk with one of these knowlegeable pharmacists about drug safety during pregnancy.
