Certain public figures shape our lives and set the course for pop culture, politics and news -- as exemplified by Time magazine's new list of the 100 Most Influential People (featuring the likes of Bill Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, and Lady Gaga). But you have to wonder, who are the least influential?
To accompany the magazine's prestigious list of VIPs, Time columnist Joel Stein compiled the Least Influential People of 2010 -- 100 people who aren't exactly movers and shakers, so much as temporary disruptions buzzing at our consciousness like mosquitoes.
So who made the cut? Well, plenty of reality stars, that's for sure: Fame-seeking duo Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, not-so-doting dad Jon Gosselin, MTV "star" Tila Tequila, American Idol castoffs Paula Abdul and Brian Dunkleman, troubled actress Lindsay Lohan ("Things are not good when you're suing babies," Stein mused) and the boy you hope your daughter never dates, Levi Johnston.
Lest we forget (or maybe we should), some other "celebs" also made Stein's list: Carrie Prejean and Nadya "Octomom" Suleman, whose influence over the media is shaky, at best. As Time so aptly put it, "No one really cares anymore."
