After all the speculation -- She refused to eat peanuts! She posed with her hand over her belly! She drank water instead of wine! -- it's official: Kate Middleton is pregnant! The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have a royal baby on the way.
Today reports the news from Buckingham Palace/Clarence House today, and that Kate, 30, in the "very early stages" of pregnancy, has been hospitalized with severe morning sickness.
According to the news show, the baby will be third in line to the throne (regardless of gender -- woot! woot!) after Prince Charles and William.
We are thrilled that the couple is having a baby (plus they can check off that whole royal heir to the throne box), but really, we're just so, so, so happy that Kate can finally be free of the most intense baby pressure we've ever witnessed. It's hard enough for a nonduchess mom-to-be to keep mum about pregnancy when you're trying to conceive or are in the first trimester. But having most of the free world watch your every move? We can't even imagine. (Never mind what sounds like brutal morning sickness.)
Well, we say give that gal a crumpet -- or whatever carb it is she's craving -- and some ginger candies. We're thinking of you, Kate -- congrats!
