It’s freezing outside…still. Snow is blowing in your face. Your feet are cold and wet. Suddenly, you spot a cozy-looking bus stop with a heater. But there’s one catch: to activate the heat, you have to complete a circuit by holding hands with someone else. Would you do it?
That’s the premise of a recent commercial from Duracell, as they explain on their YouTube page. “In this winter of ice storms and a polar vortex, moments of warmth are few and far between. We wanted to see if we could change that.” Watch as friends and strangers in Montreal, Canada, hold hands and feel the warmth.
Who cares if it’s forced human interaction? The good intentions don’t end at the bus stop. Share this video from their Facebook page, use the tag #PowerWarmth, and Duracell will donate $1 to Habitat for Humanity! It's not that we necessarily want to plug Duracell but they are decent batteries and this seems like a good cause.
And yes, we’d totally hold hands with a stranger if it meant having a warm bus stop.
