Dancing with the Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy is trying his hand at a whole different type of reality show. The sexy, hot-tempered mover and shaker has been chosen to be the star of Ukraine's version of The Bachelor!

"This is the first thing in a VERY LONG TIME that I'm doing for ME," Chmerkovskiy wrote on his website. "For the first time, I don't really care what people think. First time that I'm not being 'judged', 'placed' or 'criticized.'"

In the same post, the dancer says he turned down an offer from the American version of the show, but sources tell EW.com that he was never asked. Either way, Chmerkovskiy was ready to mingle with the women of the Ukraine, and he reportedly filmed for four to six weeks.

Erin Andrews, Maks' previous partner and once-rumored love interest, confirmed in the press that that her pal was seriously looking for love but said she had "no idea" if he found someone to share his life.

Chmerkoskiy was previously engaged to DTWS pro Karina Smirnoff, before the two had a nasty split. Now, at this stage in his life, the dancer says he's serious about settling down and starting a family.

"There has never been a show such as this in Ukraine, and it makes me think that a first season would be the most 'real' as far as participant's perception of 'what it's all about,'" he wrote. "I know it's hard to find someone you can connect to on a project like this, but nothing is impossible. For the sake of the show I can't reveal anything, but I must say I am very pleasantly surprised so far."
