Which celebrities are going to be shaking their sequins on Dancing with the Stars this season? We'll find out the official roster on Sept. 4, when Tom Bergeron announces the names on Good Morning America. But why wait until then, when the word's out on at least half the list? Here are the stars rumored to have made the lineup. Oh, and we've rated them by their level of… interestingness.
Valerie Harper, 74
Like the character she made famous (Rhoda from The Mary Tyler Moore Show), Harper's got chutzpah. Diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and not expected to live past June, the actress has proven doctors wrong by surviving through the summer -- and signing on to compete in this physically demanding competition, according to TMZ. She may not win the whole she-bang, but she rates a perfect score on the interesting scale for sheer gutsiness. Rating: 10 out of 10.
Leah Remini, 43
Though her ABC series Family Tools was officially canceled in May, this firebrand personality is most famous for two other things: her role on King of Queens and her recent public split from the Church of Scientology. Can she dance? Who knows, but she's got spunk and a fascinating back story. Rating: 8 out of 10.
Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, 25
DWTS has been trying to recruit Jersey Shore's most confident "meatball" for years. “I feel like I’m a good dancer," the new mom told Star magazine in March. Of course she did! We wouldn't necessarily associate her with grace, but for pure entertainment value, she scores high. Rating: 9 out of 10.
Elizabeth Berkley, 41
Berkley has two personas: the nice girl from Saved By the Bell and the stripper from the cult classic Showgirls. Which one is she? Ah, the truth will come out in the DWTS ballroom! As for her dance skills, she's probably got 'em. "Elizabeth has been working out like crazy and getting in shape for the show," an insider told In Touch Weekly. Rating: 7 out of 10.
Amber Riley, 27
She's from Glee, so we know she can dance. And she'll definitely attract a younger audience. "HUGE announcement next week hehehehehe!" she posted on Instagram. Can't wait to share yall!" She doesn't have a very heartrending story, but her moves will probably land her near the top of the board. Rating: 7 out of 10.
Christina Milian, 31
This middling singer/actress isn't an inherently interesting choice. But she can dance, and she'll be able to devote her time to the competition now that she's left her social correspondent gig at The Voice. Rating: 5 out of 10.
John Stamos, 50
He's had a rabid fan base ever since Full House, and he's stayed in the public eye with guest arcs on shows like Necessary Roughness and Glee. And on that last show, he sang and danced! Rating: 8 out of 10
Jack Osbourne, 27
With his recent diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, Ozzy Osbourne's son brings a triumph-over-adversity storyline. And it's not hard to imagine this plucky musician fighting with the judges, which is always exciting! Rating: 8 out of 10.
JC Chasez, 37
We know he can dance. His former 'N Sync bandmate, Joey Fatone, dominated in this competition. Chasez would probably do the same. Rating: 7 out of 10.
Farrah Abraham, 22
Could her rumored participation be true? It seems unlikely that a Teen Mom-turned-porn star would wind up on DWTS. At this point, most people tend to see Abraham in an unflattering light -- or a cautionary tale for bad life choices. Rating: 5 out of 10.
