chime in nowJessica Alba first became concerned about the products that everyone was using and how good they were for both our bodies and the environment after giving birth to daughters Honor and Haven. "I read a book called Healthy Child Healthy World when I was seven-and-a-half months pregnant, and my eyes were opened to all of the toxic chemicals that are in everyday household and baby products," Alba has said. In order to keep her family safe, the actress started The Honest Company, with that book's author Christopher Gavigan, to help make baby-care and household products that were eco-friendly readily available. Alba's work has made such an impact that she was just named 2013's global ambassador for Earth Hour, an initiative to help people show their commitment to helping to save the planet.
